Hot spicy steam boat date with the addition of mango on ice

These two things probably shouldn't be eaten one after another, but they are both scrumptious! I've been dying to have the hot spicy steam boat for AGES (about 3 years) and I've finally made it! The duck blood and tofu are just so tasty, full of the flavours. And it was always fun to have a nice meal with very good friends!

We went to a night market nearby for the mango on ice. Hopefully, the hot and cold blend won't give me a stomachache! I shall see tomorrow...

Old memory coming back

I thought now that I'm away from Auckland, all those feelings won't surface again. But I still managed to get upest after hearing about the crowd...Argh, why should I care...

Oh well, hot spicy pot with dear friends tomorrow night is something I can look forward to.

A day as a tour guide

My role became as a tour guide the day (1st of July) after the convention finished. It didn't start well at all as I was a bit late. I had to wait for 8 minutes for my MRT and the transfer bus was going like 20 kpm. I managed to arrive 5 minutes before the scheduled leaving time for the tour, but I should've been there at least 15 minutes beforehand to check on people attending.

Luckily, there were only 12 of us on the culture tour. I thought I was able to join in and 'visit' the sites, but it turned out that I had to make calls on the bus like mad to make sure people at the next stop were aware of our coming and at the site I had to make sure everyone was there. I was not at all in any mood of enjoying the historic sites and museum! It was also an extremely hot day.

The ever so famous National Palace Museum

It was quite interesting though to get to interact with one VIP on a personal level. He's the Chief Information Officer of San Francisco City, very handsome and most importantly friendly, whom a lot of girls from the convention had a crash on. I got to take a CIO on a tour! Maybe he'll be running for the next mayor and somehow has an influence on Stanford University so that he could get me in by the time when I'm looking for a post-doc! At the end of the day, I ran into him at the hotel lobby. I asked him for his card, but at the time he didn't have it with him. He actually went all the way back to his room and got it just for me! I felt extremely embarrassed realising that I sent a VIP to get something for me when he was already exhausted (he left the tour early to rest)!

A very different experience, but I'm sure I won't ever want to be a tour guide again, especially when I want to visit the places as well.
